Dr. Brian Berman is Voluntary Professor of Dermatology at The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and has the honor of serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Dermatology. He has served as Professor of Dermatology and Internal Medicine at the University of Miami, Medical Director for Dermatology for inpatient and outpatients at Dade County’s Jackson Memorial Hospital, Professor of Dermatology and Vice-Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at The University of California, Davis, Chief of the Dermatology Service at the VA Medical Center, Martinez, CA, and Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida. He is past President and Founder of The National Association of Veterans Affairs Dermatologists, Chaired the Dermatology Field Advisory Group for The Department of Veterans Affairs, is a member of the Scientific Advisory / Boards of The European Journal of Dermatology, Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, and SKINmed, Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, edited The Miami Review series and was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Sulzberger Institute for Dermatologic Education.
He is the author of more than 250 peer-reviewed scientific and clinical articles, chapters and books, is the recipient of the Dean’s Senior Faculty Clinical Research Award from the University of Miami School of Medicine, was bestowed the “Scientist of the Year” Award from Sigma Xi the Science and Research Honor Society and is included among “The Best Doctors in America”.
David Cohen, M.D., MPH
Associate Professor, Vice Chairman of Clinical Affairs Department of Dermatology at New York University School of Medicine
David E. Cohen, M.D., MPH, is currently Associate Professor of Dermatology, Vice Chairman of Clinical Affairs, and Director, Occupational and Environmental Dermatology and Chief of Allergy and Contact Dermatitis in the Department of Dermatology at the New York University School of Medicine. He is also lecturer of Environmental Sciences in the Columbia University School of Public Health.
An acknowledged expert on contact dermatitis, Dr. Cohen has served as President of the American Contact Dermatitis Society which is the Pan American organization focused on improving the care of patients with occupational, environmental and allergic diseases of the skin. He is a founding board member of the American Acne and Rosacea society, and has served as President of the Dermatology Section for the New York Academy of Medicine, as Chairman of several committees of the American Academy of Dermatology, on the committee that set guidelines of care for the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. He served on the National Academy of Science-Institute of Medicine’s Committee to Review the Federal Response to the Health Effects Associated with the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill. He is also studying and developing a bioterrorism preparedness plan for cutaneous anthrax for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He serves as a clinical consultant to numerous companies.
Dr. Cohen has published widely in the field of clinical dermatology and is a frequent lecturer at national and international meetings. He was recently Program Chairman for the 130th Annual Meeting of the American Dermatological Association. Dr. Cohen is a member of the editorial board of Journal of Drugs in Dermatology and the editorial advisory boards of Dermatitis and Skin and Allergy News.
A Summa Cum Laude graduate of City University of New York, Dr. Cohen received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine in Stony Brook, New York, and earned a Master of Public Health from the Columbia University School of Public Health in New York. He has been honored by election to Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society, has received the Merck Sharp Dohme Award for Academic Excellence.
Sewon Kang, M.D., MPH
Professor and Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine
Dr. Kang is the Noxell Professor and Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He received his medical degree and a master’s of public health at Williams College and the University of Michigan and completed his dermatology residency and fellowship at the Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, Dr. Kang was the Arthur C. Curtis Professor of Dermatology at the University of Michigan.
Howard Maibach, M.D.

Dr. Howard Maibach has written and lectured extensively on dermatotoxicology (the toxicity to man from skin exposure) and dermatopharmacology (the treatment of skin diseases). His current research programs include defining the chemical-biologic faces of irritant dermatitis and the study of percutaneous penetration.
When Dr. Maibach is not in the lab conducting research or in the classroom teaching, he is seeing patients at the Environmental Dermatoses Clinic (of the Dermatology Clinic), mostly providing second opinions on allergic contact dermatitis.
Dr. Maibach has been on the editorial boards of over 30 scientific journals and is a member of 19 professional societies including the American Academy of Dermatology, San Francisco Dermatological Society, and the International Commission on Occupational Health.
Seth Orlow, M.D., Ph.D.
Professor of Dermatology, Cell Biology and Pediatrics and Chairman of Dermatology at New York University (NYU) School of Medicine
Dr. Orlow is Professor of Dermatology, Cell Biology and Pediatrics and Chairman of New York University (NYU) School of Medicine’s Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology. A graduate of Harvard College and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Orlow completed his internship and residency training at Mt. Sinai and Yale. He joined NYU in 1990. In addition to his background in medicine and science, Dr. Orlow has served as a consultant to drug, medical device and consumer products companies with a special focus on dermatology and skin care. He spent nine years as a healthcare venture capitalist and was co-founder of a dermatology discovery company, Anaderm, which was acquired by Pfizer in 2002.
Neil A. Swanson, M.D.

Diane Thiboutot, M.D.
Associate Director of the General Clinical Research Center at Penn State
In her clinical practice at Hershey Medical Center, Dr. Thiboutot specializes in the care of patients with acne, rosacea and hair disorders. Dr. Thiboutot received her medical degree and residency training in Dermatology at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and University Hospital. Awards from the Dermatology Foundation and National Institutes of Health fostered her early research career. Dr. Thiboutot currently directs an active research program in both basic and clinical research with the support from the NIH. Her area of research interest is in the regulation of sebum production and the treatment of acne with particular emphasis on the role of retinoids.
Dr. Thiboutot is the Associate Director of the General Clinical Research Center at Penn State and Medical Director for Penn State’s NIH K30 physician mentorship program. She has served for the past four years on the M.D./Ph.D. Steering Committee and was a former co-leader of Hershey Medical Center's Research Team and member of the Institutional Review Board. Dr. Thiboutot is a member of the AOA Honor Medical Society. She is listed in The Best Doctors in America, Northeast region, First and Second Editions and the Best Doctors in America. Dr. Thiboutot received her University’s Outstanding Young Investigator Award in 1996 for her work on androgen metabolism in the skin in addition to a Faculty Teaching Award from the Medical Student Class of 1996.
Dr. Thiboutot serves as a reviewer for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as well as several dermatology journals. She has published numerous manuscripts and book chapters relating to acne and hormone metabolism in the skin.
Guy Webster, M.D., Ph,D.

An internationally recognized expert in acne and dermatologic therapy, Dr Webster was the founding President of the American Acne & Rosacea Society and has over 120 publications in peer reviewed journals and textbooks. Until 2005, he was professor and Vice Chairman in the Department of Dermatology of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Currently he is Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Jefferson and is a sought after consultant and lecturer.
